History and Facts of the Mughal Emperor Humayun Nasiruddin Muhammad Humayun sat on the throne of Agra on 29 December 1530 AD. Before becoming the ruler, Humayun was Badkhash Sunedar. Humayun split his empire between his brothers, which proved to be fatal for the Mughal empire.

History of Humayun

  • On 25 June 1540, Chausa war between Sher Khan and Humayun took place, in which Sher Khan won.
  • Sher Khan took the title of Shershah to celebrate the success in the battle of Chausa.
With victory in the battle of Kannauj, Sher Shah  took control of Agra and Delhi.
  • On 17 May 1540, there was a battle of Kannauj between Sher Shah and Humayun. Humayun was defeated in this too, and he had to live in exile for the next 15 years.
  • After victory in the battle of Sarhind, Humayun again sat on the throne of Delhi on July 23,
In 1533 AD, Humayun established a new town called Din Panah.
  • Humayun believed in astrology. So, used to wear different color clothes on seven days of the week.
