Senior Scientist Sivan K appointed as chairman of ISRO

th January 2018. He is known as a Rocket Man because of his great contribution to the space program. His hometown is Sarakkalvilai. He was born in Kanyakumari.

Senior Scientist Sivan K appointed as chairman of ISRO on 10th January 2018.

Early Life of Scientist Sivan K:

He is a son of a farmer. He studied in the Hindi Medium School in the village. Later he went to Madras Institute of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering for graduation.  He has done ME from IISC in 1982 Bangalore, and then he further studied and took his degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2006 from IIT Bombay.
  • He is a member of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, The Aeronautical Society of India.

The career of ISRO Chairman Sivan K:

Sivan has worked on the designs and development of the vehicles for ISRO. Sivan joined the ISRO in 1982 for the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle project. Then later he got appointed as the Director of ISRO’s Liquid Propulsion System Centres in the year 2014.
Sivan K is the chief architect of 6D Trajectory Simulation Software
  • He worked very hard on every mission. He is the chief architect of 6D Trajectory Simulation Software.
  • He implemented and developed an innovative day of launch wind biasing method.
  • Through this method, one can launch a rocket at any day, any point in time and any weather.

  • He received the Shri Hari Om Ashram Perit Sarabhai Vikram Research Award in 1999.
  • Sivan K Received ISRO merit award in the year 2007.
  • He Got the Biren Roy Space Science Award in the year 2011.
