Reasons of Volcanic Eruptions :

The main reason for volcanic eruptions is due to rocks melt and spread because of excessive temperature in the geothermal soil and production of lava when pressure is low. Based on the period of volcanic eruption, Volcano is divided into following three types –
  1. Active Volcano: The volcano by which lava and other substances always exit, is called an active volcano. Examples of the Active volcano are Italy’s Etna and Stromboli. There are currently about 500 Active volcanoes on Earth.
    1. Dormant Volcano: In this type of volcano there is a possibility of reactivation after once erupted. Japan’s Fujianma volcano is a type of dormant volcano.
    2. Extinct Volcano: This type of volcano does not have any possibility of reactivation once erupted. Kilimanjaro (Africa) and Papa (Myanmar) are examples of the extinct volcano.
Two-thirds of the world’s volcano is found in the coastal regions of the Pacific Ocean. That is why it is also called “Fire-circle of the Pacific Ocean”.

  • Currently, the world’s highest mountain volcano is Ecuador’s “Mount Cotopaxi”, which has a height of 19,613 feet.
  • The most active volcano is found in Americas and the coastal areas of Asia continents.
  • Burning gases always keep coming from the Stromboli in Italy. Because of this, it is also called the “Lighthouse of the Mediterranean.” 
  • The highest volcano in the world is named “Ojas Del Salado” which is located in the Andes Mountains.
